Here are the choices you’ll get at level 10: You can also visit a class trainer to change a spec you’ve selected.
At level 30 you’ll be able to purchase the ability to ‘dual spec’, which will let you easily swap back and forth between two different specs you’ve selected. Speaking of class specializations (commonly called ‘specs’), Warriors have three different specs that can be chosen at level 10. Defensive stance helps mitigate incoming damage and helps make sure you keep the attention of attacking creatures (important for tanking!), Battle stance increases Rage generation during normal attacks, while Berserker stance (which becomes available much later on) causes you to generate rage both while dealing and taking damage.
Each stance has different effects on how a Warrior performs, and are useful for different roles. In addition to using Rage as a resource, Warriors also make use of stances. You’ll learn more about which of those secondary stats is valuable to your particular spec and play style as you level. Such stats on low level gear can be quite powerful, even in small amounts, though. As you level, you’ll encounter increasing values of secondary stats, such as Hit, Haste, Expertise, Critical Strike, and Mastery. Other primary stats, such as Agility, Intellect, and Spirit, aren’t particularly useful though. Warriors are beefy, and thus, primary stats that support your beefiness are what you want: Strength, Stamina, and Armor. Strength is your go to primary stat, while Stamina is a close second (though Protection Warriors might prioritize Stamina!). When choosing gear, it’s always best to choose mail or, after you reach level 40, plate items. Warriors can use a staggering variety of weapons and armor, but aspiring Warriors should focus their choices based on which class specialization that they’ve chosen and which stats are present on the item. Warriors are a melee class that fulfills the tanking and damage dealing roles. This overview is designed to give you a better idea of what you’re getting into when you choose the Warrior class, but it’s important to remember that this is still just the tip of the spear, and there’s a lot more to learn and explore as you continue your adventure. If you like a straightforward approach, charging into battle, and bashing heads toe to toe, then Warrior might be a good class choice for you. Warriors are mighty heavily armored masters of melee combat that are fueled by the Rage they generate in combat. Others forgo the shield and unleash their rage at the closest threat with a variety of deadly weapons. Some protect from the front lines with shields, locking down enemies while allies support the warrior from behind with spell and bow. Warriors combine strength, leadership, and a vast knowledge of arms and armor to wreak havoc in glorious combat. For as long as war has raged, heroes from every race have aimed to master the art of battle.
